Character Age: 17.
Character Gender: Female.
Alternate Universe
Canon Point: After awakening in the Sacred Realm and speaking with Rauru.
Background Link: Ocarina of Time | Original universe's Zelda
AU Background:
The biggest and most obvious difference between this AU and the OU, is that the holders of the Triforce has been mixed up. Zelda holds the Triforce of Courage, Link holds the Triforce of Power, and Ganon holds the Triforce of Wisdom. Now, in the Zelda universe, that determines who's who - the holder of Courage is always the hero, the holder of Power is always the antagonist, and the holder of Wisdom is always the reincarnation of Hylia. This means that in this AU, Zelda is the Hero of Time, Link is the King of Evil, and Ganon is the Prince of Hyrule. Sounds simple, right? Sort of. It also means that a lot of characters had to be shuffled around to get everyone to fit in their corresponding places; all of the Kokiri are the same, but the Gerudos and Hylians are switched, though the ones living in Hyrule are still called Hylians and vice verse.

But this is about Zelda, at the moment. She was brought to the Deku Tree - like OU Link had been - by her mother as a baby, and was raised a Kokiri by her treedaddy the Great Deku Tree. She's seen more as "the poor girl without a fairy" than "that no good boy without a fairy" by the other Kokiri - while Mido still dislikes and bullies her, it's to keep her safe. He believed that without a fairy, she's too weak to handle herself. Aside from that, not much is different about her and the Kokiri Forest; even her relationship with Navi is similar (though she's seen less as "lazy" and more "sleepy". She can't help being sleepy a lot, okay.) However, she's treated differently in Hyrule than Link was - she resembles the Gerudos this time (Because Link is their leader, remember), rather than the Hylians, so she's generally given the cold shoulder. To get into the castle, she had to use a cowl to hide her face and sneak in, but she managed it - meeting up with the young Prince Ganon. Like Link and Zelda in the original universe, Ganon tells Zelda that she was from his dreams - the girl from the forest with its Spiritual Stone.

There isn't too much of a difference between what Link had to do and what Zelda had to do - the young Zelda traversed the world, befriending the Gorons and the Zoras, witnessed her nightmare of the evil Link chasing Ganon and his attendant out of Hyrule castle and received the Ocarina of Time, drew the Master Sword... and was sealed into the Sacred Realm, watching helplessly as the Prince of Evil crossed into the Sacred Realm to retrieve the Triforce. Even freeing the Sages was mostly the same - aside from the obvious switched ones, of course. Nabooru is still the Spirit Sage, but was... a lot easier to awaken for Zelda than she was for Link.

Personality:
Because this Zelda is the holder of the Triforce of Courage rather than Wisdom, she can be more action oriented when it comes to decisions - while she will stop to think things through, there are times where she'll rush head first, relying on her gut. It can get her into trouble at times - but she still has enough brains to pull herself back out of it. She can come up with a strategy for battles and dungeons nearly on the spot, and she likes working her brain with puzzles and riddles. Despite being the counterpart of Princess Zelda, this Zelda isn't always as level headed and calm as she; this heroine can be angered easier - normally acting immature and catty when really irritated. She's not one to call names and insult, but she might be caught making a face behind someone's back if she's thoroughly fed up with her company.

She retained many of her traits from her childhood; she can act a little more innocent compared to her OU self, and is very bright eyed about life and the world, despite the state of the future. She has a healthy sense of curiosity and loves learning new things. If she gets offered the chance to pick something apart, she will - and she'll probably want to try and put it back together, too. Unlike Princess Zelda, though, she's more hands-on about it; she'll actively pull apart a clock, for instance, and put it back together if she can remember how. The Heroine of Time is a little less "know all" than her OU counterpart, of course - she never had prophetic dreams, nor was relied on for such. So while she does think that a few of her answers can be the end-all-be-all, she's still very flexible and willing to listen to others' options (especially Ganon's, as he does have prophetic dreams and is relied on for such).

The Heroine is a very hard worker - she will wear herself out over and over again for the greater good, and values others' lives and happiness above her own. While she doesn't necessarily bottle her feelings, she hates having others shoulder it, as it can cause them to grieve as well (which kind of goes against their happiness > her happiness, you know?). She is very understanding and level when it comes to the burdens of others; she'd rather compromise if she can (unless Link is involved), rather than force her opinions and views on others or shoehorn people into what she wants. Her kindness knows no bounds as well - just like all other Zeldas, she helps others whenever possible, and can be very generous.

Like the other Zeldas that everyone knows and loves, she can very easily fall into a leader position - even though she's not very fit for a government role. In a team, she's very gung-ho about teamwork and leading everyone on the right path, while even by just herself and Navi, she knows exactly what to do and keeps a very forward thinking mind about it all. On top of this, she has a strong sense of self worth - unlike, sadly, OU Zelda. She's a strong women, able to hold out on her own, and she's going to go defeat an evil king and save the guy, after all - this goes without saying that it goes against a lot of story archetypes and she knows it; in most fairytales it's a valiant prince saving a damsel in distress, after all. She doesn't have an ego however; she can hold her own in an argument or debate, but she would never hold herself higher than others.

Despite her bright eyed look on life and her almost pure and innocent personality, however, she can be very serious when the situation calls for it - her expression and tone can easily sober up, and she will be solemn when it's not the time for smiling or joking around. If people need someone to go to for advice or wisdom, she can still dole it out - not as great as her OU counterpart, but she has an understanding of how the world works. She's not easy to freak out or scare, nor is it easy to shake her into being nervous or anxious; because of that, if she were to fight in a team, she could easily be counted on as a level headed leader, or the group's mental and emotional anchor or support.

Abilities:
Archery: Zelda is, as most Zeldas are, proficient with the bow - to the point of having almost perfect aim.
Swordsmanship: Despite preferring her bow to her sword, she still works and practices with the sword; not to mention the fact she wields a goddamn magic blade.
Magic: Zelda is capable of using two different spells; Din's fire, which creats a variable dome of fire, and Farore's Wind, which teleports her to a previously specified place in the building.
Athletics: Zelda is capable of many different acrobatics, like rolling quickly, backflips, rolls, etc.; she's also pretty physically fit! She's fast and strong; just barely able to pick up a rock the size of her torso, but compared to a real person? That's pretty impressive, bro.
Intelligence: Despite not being the holder of Wisdom, this Zelda is still one smart cookie. Puzzles serve little challenge for her, and she's capable of thinking up strategies on the spot.
Swimming: Thanks to her Silver Scale, she can dive very deep and hold her breath for it as well.

She's also in possession of her Ocarina of Time, but it doesn't really work here, despite knowing what few songs she does.
